One pool, one promise
Former national swimmer Lakshmi Narayan starts teaching neighbourhood kids at a borrowed hotel pool after her nephew's scary near-miss at the beach.
About AquaCubs
We're a team of swimmers, lifeguards and teachers on a single mission: every child in our city should feel safe and happy in water.

Our story
Follow the swimmer down the lane — each length is a chapter of the AquaCubs story.
Former national swimmer Lakshmi Narayan starts teaching neighbourhood kids at a borrowed hotel pool after her nephew's scary near-miss at the beach.
Classes are capped at four children per instructor — a rule we've never broken. The waiting list grows to 200 families.
AquaCubs Adyar opens with a 32°C baby pool, a 25 m teaching pool and a warm viewing gallery for parents.
We launch free Water Safety & Survival sessions for local schools, reaching more than 1,500 children.
A second pool opens, plus the Parent Dashboard so families can track skills, badges and schedules.
Twelve years in, we're still obsessed with the same thing: the moment a scared child realises the water is holding them up.
Mission
To give every child water confidence for life — through patient teaching, tiny groups and safety that never takes a day off.
Vision
A city where no child fears water.
Our safety promise
Written on the wall at reception, and checked by our head lifeguard before every session.
A dedicated lifeguard watches every class. Instructors teach, lifeguards guard — never both.
Never more than 4 kids per instructor (3 for toddlers). More turns, more attention.
Every team member is background-checked and holds current CPR, first aid and safeguarding training.
31–32°C pools, water tested every two hours, and results posted at reception.
No forced submersions, no tears policy. Children progress when they're ready.
Parents can watch every lesson from the gallery, and CCTV covers the full pool deck.
Teaching method
Games, songs and toys build trust before any technique.
One new skill at a time, demonstrated and tried in tiny steps.
Repetition with praise, until the skill feels automatic.
A badge, a cheer and a note home. Then the next level.
